Dragon Friends October 18, 2010
My daughter, Mckenzie, has this great friend from California who writes wonderful, long letters to her and mails them. It’s so exciting for her to get a letter and, for me, it’s great to get something in the mail that’s not a bill or junk mail. So Mckenzie and I decided to make her friend a nice card and Mckenzie wrote her a story to go inside about one of their favorite book series. The card itself is 5.5 in x 5.5 in. She used a Martha Stewart border punch for the edge of the red layer. We used my Pagoda, Cricut cartridge, for the Dragon. The Chinese character means friendship or friend. I had some golden ribbon from making Christmas cards one year that matched. She was so proud of herself and so was I.
I was feeling the Halloween vibe over the weekend, so here is what I came up with. I used my Cricut, Happy Hauntings cartridge and my Gypsy to make the card. The cute witch is a digital stamp from The Greeting Farm. I colored the stamp in and used Stickles and crystals around the edges. Love it!

Butterfly September 22, 2010
This card was for my grandmother’s birthday a few weeks ago. I used a cream colored cardstock for the base, which I cut out using my Cricut and the Accent Essentials cartridge at 4.5 in. The second layer is paper by DCWV. I cut the second layer a half an inch smaller than the base. I cut out one of the butterflies from the paper and folded the wings back a little to give dimension. I also used a few little pearls from Making Memories and added them to the butterfly. I finished off by cutting out a title and adhering it to the top left corner and added some pretty blue ribbon across the lower half of the card.
